Felt Monster Décor

Instructions

1. Cut two 6”x 3” pieces from the medium blue felt.  Set aside for the arms. 
2. Cut several 3” circles from both colors of felt.  You will need twice as many light blue circles as you will medium blue for the spotted effect shown.  Cut 1” slits into the felt circles all the way around the outside edge about ½” apart.  They should kind of look like spokes on a wheel with a solid center. 
3. Lay the center of a felt circle over the tip of the tucking tool or nail file.  Push the felt into the foam about ¼”.   
4. *Option* You can brush a layer of glue over a small section at a time before you insert the felt circles for a more secure hold.  Push the felt circle’s side by side to cover the foam.  Push in a small section of light blue and then a spot of medium blue.  Continue tucking in the felt circles to completely cover the foam.  Leave the bottom edge bare so the monster can stand. 
5. Cut two 2.5” long oval ears, two 1.5” wide oval hands, and one 1.5” circle for an eye from the purple foam sheet.  Cut two 3” long oval feet and one 1.5” circle for an eye from the black foam sheet.   
6. Separate the felt and glue the ears into the foam at the top of the head.  Glue the feet to the bottom of the foam.  Glue the 1.5” black and purple foam circles about ½” apart for the eyes.  Glue the 1” wiggle eyes to the center of each circle. 
7. Roll the 6”x 3” felt pieces into a tube and glue the seam together.  Glue the end of a chenille stem to the end of each foam hand.  Thread the chenille stems up the felt arm and out the other end.  Trim the end to about 1”.  Glue the foam hand in place at the end of the arm. 
8. Glue a pompom to the end of two blue chenille stems.  Twist a spiral in each stem and glue the stems to the top of the head for the antenna.
